About

Gracie began her journey as a performer when her parents signed her up for Stage Coach at the age of 8 where she took classes in acting, singing and dancing. It was here where she found a particular interest in dance, and wanting to take her training further at age 11 she signed up for dance classes at WTA Dance Studios. Beginning with just two classes a week in ballet and modern jazz, Gracie later expanded into learning more styles of dance taking part in classes such as tap, theatre craft, musical theatre and pointe. She also went on to take IDTA examinations in these subjects achieving high distinctions and getting nominated for the IDTA awards on multiple occasions.

Gracie also got the opportunity to assist dance classes at her dance school. This consisted of helping the teacher to teach young dance students ballet, tap, modern, acro and musical theatre helping them develop show dances and take exams.

To further her training, Gracie decided to go on and study at a BTEC level after successfully gaining a place on the dance course at Arts 1 School of Performance. Here Gracie has trained in acting, singing and many styles of dance including jazz, ballet, tap, commercial and contemporary. Gracie also took part in a project lesson which allowed her to work on both the performing side and the creative choreography side of a performance piece.

As a part of her college course, Gracie had to complete 60 hours of work experience within the performing arts field. She completed this by volunteering at Leanne Hughes Theatre School. Gracie helped out at the dance exams being taken at LHTS by playing exam music and aiding the examiner when necessary. She also helped with the music and sound at their show case which meant working with the stage manager and lighting crew to help run the show. This consisted of using the coms and communicating with the performers and stage crew to help the chow run smoothly.

After relocating to Milton Keynes for college, Gracie discovered new dance classes available in the city. She often took the open commercial and contemporary classes with Ryan Hayes at RHDC (Ryan Hayes Dance Company). She later joined LHTS (where she did her work experience) taking classes in pointe, contemporary, jazz and joined their competition team where they qualified for the All England Dance competition.
